Captain's Log
Stardate: 70163.58 (03/01/2393, 17:00 hours)
Lt. Banning was successful in downloading a manifest for the passenger liner we found adrift in space. It belonged to a race called the Konerieri. Apparently it had some kind of equipment malfunction and had gone way off course and then encountered a Hirogen hunt ship. I have notified the Kinerieri and they will be sending a patrol ship out to tow this one back and to properly care for the remains of the slaughtered crew and passengers. With that taken care of, I look ahead to the possible threat that is the Hirogen. The last time a Starfleet ship has encountered them was back in 2380 when the Aventine had come to the Delta Quadrant in the hipes of cutting off any further Borg ships from using a sub-space corridor to get to the Alpha Quadrant. They were successful in staving off the Hirogen attack, but it did come with losses to Captain Dax's crew. Now, I have to make certain my crew is up to the challenge.

It is into Beta shift on the ship. We are back to looking for the Indpendence but most of you are off shift. The threat of the Hirogen SHOULD be utmost on your minds.
