Time to look for the author...*** Captain's Log/Mission brief 141210 |
Stardate 68499.65 (07/02/2391, 09:00 hours)
We have spent the past twenty two hours in the solar syatem of Solenar, a class-M planet with a pre-warp civilization. When we first arrrived in the system, we noted a defense platform with approximately twenty nuclear war-head missiles pointed outwards toward space. We also witnessed a launch of one of their shuttles, explained by a received broadcast as a relief mission for the astronauts on the platform, which we no sooner saw it leave the atmosphere, than it was attacked by a missile launched from the planet. We have been watching the broadcasts since then, and have seen rising anger levels as one side of the planet blames the other side.
From what we gained, from the subsequent broadcasts and intercepted communications, there are two ruling factions. The defense platform was a joint effort by both nations and both leaders are certain their opposite is behind the destruction of the shuttle. We are continuing to monitor as we have already witnessed minor skirmishes in one of the two oceans separating the nations. We are continuing to monitor.
