Captain's Log
Stardate 68291.89 (04/17/2391, 13:00 hours)
We have received a quick burst tight-beam message from the Excelsior. They are on their way to the Rift Nebula and we should be expecting them any time. Because of the limited capabilities of the inter-dimensional communicator, we could not send back to them about the Roman ship we have captured and will be sending back through the rift. Timing will have to be precise on this to keep exposure to the ROman ships minimum. The Excelsior's transmission did also state they believed a Roman battle cruiser would be waiting for them at the nebula. This far, we have not detected it, but we are hoping the tricorder on the other side will be able to sense it.
We have deflected a couple attempts by the Roman crew to make any effective repairs to their ship, which could possibly make things more difficult for us. Again, I would like to have seen the look on Fyrstk's face when each of their efforts were turned back against them.

We now have word that the XL is coming back. All hands will expect to be alert and ready for action. The ship will be on yellow alert.
