Captain's Log
Stardate 68286.7 (04/15/2391, 15:30 hours)
We remain on station at the Rift Nebula (as my crew has come to refer to it and Banning has even made a formal notation for Starfleet records). There has been no word from the Excelsior. The inter-dimensional sensor array has detected ships approaching the nebula from the other side, but none have dared enter it. Banning assumes they are looking for XL by the extensive sensor sweeps the ships have been doing.
Commander Jorel has returned from the trip to the Abescan Colony. The governor was returned without any further incidents. I still wish I had seen the look on Fyrstk's face when he materialized on the ship we basicall slagged. Once Trellis returns and opens the rift, we will send this ship through and hopefully whatever virus the Excelsior's science officer has set up will do the trick to stop their incursions into this universe.

FOR THE SIM:
It is once again the end of Alpha shift. I am basically giving you some free reigh to work on some character building tonight. Maybe you can even schedule some drills for your respective departments. The big hold-up is that Excelsior has not yet completed their rescue mission, so we're kind of in a holding pattern.
