Time to look for the author...*** Captain's Log/Mission brief 140312 |
Stardate 68176.99 (03/06/2391, 14:30 hours)
We are currently still in low orbit over the larger of two moons that orbit the third planet in Sector 1231. We have learned through the data gleaned from the research station that the inhabitants call their planet Soolia III. We can only guess that because they call their star Soolia, they have named each of the planets in numerical order.
Thanks to the hard work of Commander Hart, and his engineering teams, and extras who volunteered to help him, all traces of the research base have been removed from the moon. The shuttle which was launched from Soolia III, the Searcher, is a half a day away from the moon where it will attempt a landing in the area where the base was reported to them. I can only assume by the research team themselves. Which brings up OUR next part of this mess.
I am calling a briefing of the department heads. We will need a plan, not only to find the research team, but to then retrieve them without doing any further damage to this planet's culture. Fortunately the government seems to be covering up any existence of the base from the populace for there is no mention of it on their planetary media broadcasts. The shuttle launch was explained off as a standard weather observation, and their reports falsely have the shuttle in orbit.

FOR THE SIM:
TONIGHT is my Coast Guard Auxiliary meeting, at 8 p.m. As always, I am hoping we can be home before the start of the sim. If I am not here by 21:15 hours, the sim will be canceled. I will try to let the XO know when I am on my way home if it is going to be close.
As stated, we will be convening a D.H. briefing and brain session to determine the next best course of action.
