T'Shana's head popped out from behind the shuttle. She covertly watched the Starzen delegation leave the shuttle bay with Captain Mergahn and her officers. Absentmindedly, she put her tools back into her Engineering kit. So, that was Chancellor Sanfer. Hmmm... interesting. She was already acquainted with Admiral Detalya, but had had no clue who the other man was until the Captain had greeted him. The memory of how she had met Detalya momentarily made her cringe. That wasn't my best day, she thought. Then again, when did I actually have a good day on this ship? Her mind replayed her most important moments, since arriving on the Athena. There hadn't been a whole lot to be proud of. Ugh... Of course, when had she ever worried about how others looked at her, or what whoever thought about what she did or did not do? Not too often, from what she could recall. She leaned against the shuttle's nose and let out an audible sigh. To her own dismay, things had changed a bit since she now was confined to a ship, far far away from home. The convenience of just leaving whenever she was feeling uncomfortable and go wherever she wanted was nixed by the simply fact that there was nowhere else to go. And a ship the size of the Athena could quickly get too small for someone that practically had embodied the term "T.R.O.U.B.L.E." One thing for sure, Detalya had seemed rather harmless. She got the same vibe from the Chancellor. They both seemed to be so completely impressed by the technology they saw, it was hard to imagine any problems coming from the Starzen, now that they were willing to cooperate with Starfleet's efforts. She was sure the Captain would have them wrapped around her finger soon enough. The woman seemed to have been born to handle diplomatic affairs. The real danger to herself was Admiral Toren's presence. T'Shana had noted his arrival the other day with trepidation. So far, noone had said anything to her, nor had she been called into the Captain's office. But the possibility of the Admiral knowing about what she had done on Space Station Nigala hung over her head like a dark cloud. She made the trek across the shuttle bay, pondering the possibilities. Maybe he simply did not have any knowledge of the event, or he didn't know that T'Shana was onboard the Athena. Or perhaps he was letting her stew in her own juices first, since she was unable to leave, and throw her in the brig when the time was right. Or, there was the possibility, though slim, that Hirsch had not filed charges. She sighed heavily when she stepped out into the corridor. In any case, the uncertainty of it all was gnawing on her nerves. |
