Weeks Later...
The extent of the damage is unknown. Romulus and nearby systems were completely obliterated by the shock-wave. The complete death toll will never be known. What is known is that the Hobus Star has not had another explosion yet but it is clear that it will and the next one will devastate half the quadrant. There is no doubt there will be another one but those in power work hard to keep that a secret, to prevent outright panic and mayhem.
The Federation has been working on many fronts to try and stop Hobus but all attempts thus far have failed. All hope seems to rest on Ambassador Spock's plan to use red-matter to create a blackhole at Hobus to reverse the process. Many individuals have converged on Vulcan to help execute the plan which involves using a prototype vessel known as the Jellyfish designed by well-known engineer Geordi LaForge.
Meanwhile, an unknown vessel has been destroying Federation, Klingon and other vessels along the Neutral Zone. The Klingon Empire, led by Chancellor Martok will not stand for this and orders General Worf to stop this rogue vessel. The vessel, though, is none-other than the Narada, retrofitted in a secret refuge of the Romulan Senate that also served as a warfare research center by a vindictive Commander. Using hybrid Borg/Romulan technology the Narada becomes a powerful foe.
