=/= "To Moonbase, or Not To Moonbase" =/= JPL Timothy (Bear) Hart and "Bearto" NOTE: This takes place immediately following the sim of 260121. Bear sat on the floor of his quarters. He was stuffing one leg into his trousers. He looked to under his bed, where he knew Bearto liked to hide when people came in. "So, this is going to be great," he said. "You and me on a 'venture." Bearto strolled out from under the bed shaped like Sprout, but a quarter of the size of the real thing. "Venture? Moonbase?" The boy's eyes opened wide. He giggled. "Why do you look like Sprout?" "Like Sprout, " Bearto echoed, and approached Bear. "Yes, I like Sprout," Bear replied. "So you know Sprout?" Bearto moved over to the holovid of Bear and Sprout playing fetch. "Know Sprout." Bear smiled as he stood up to pull up his pants. "Sprout was fun." He pointed his finger at Bearto. "You're fun." Bearto did a little dance. "Bearto fun! Bear fun!" Bear laughed heartily. He pulled his shirt over his head, while dancing. "Bear?" came Lt. Commander Wren's voice, "Are you ready? Nigel and I are waiting..." Bear looked to his friend, questioningly. Bearto flattened into a shapeless puddle on the desk top and then melted to the floor and slipped under Bear's bed. "Bearto stay." Bear frowned. He looked, from the door,, to the opening under his bed, then back to the door. His shoulders sagged, and he started to leave. "Coming, Mommy," the boy said sadly. ~ ~ ~ The trio went to the promenade level of Moonbase. As they walked around looking at different items, Hailey couldn't help but notice how despondent her eldest son looked. When she asked him what was the matter, all he told her was "Bearto didn't want to come along." She had tried to cheer Bear up by pretending to see, what she believed was, his invisible friend. Bear always corrected her, saying that his friend was not there. =/= END LOG=/= |
