"So, What Were You Looking For?" JDL
by: Troy Banning

"So, What Were You Looking For?"
JDL: Lt. Banning and Lt. Andrews

NOTE: This takes place following the sim of 260114

Lt. Troy Banning sat in the small break room in between the bridge and the deck 1 conference room. He sipped on a hot cup of tea, and looked over data on a PADD, laying on the table.

"So," came the voice of Lt. Robert Andrews. He entered the break room and ordered a cold beverage. "Are you going to tell me what that search was for? It seemed pretty extensive."

"It's probably nothing," Banning replied to his fellow bridge officer. He tapped on the PADD, and it switched screens It was now displaying the sensor recording that had prompted the science officer's search. "I saw this as I was reading over the data we had collected while we were in the sub-space tunnel."

Rob sat down at the table. He took a sip of his drink and looked at the PADD. It played through once, and the security/tactical chief played through it again. He looked at Troy.

"You think that it got into the ship?" Andrews asked, at last.

"That was my fear," Banning admitted. "I conducted internal scans all throughout the ship. There wasn't anything to report."

Rob nodded. "I looked through the scans, too. I didn't see any particular data on the black spot, even while it was flitting about outside the ship. Do you think it might still be inside, but... "

"Sensors aren't detecting it?" Banning posed. "I sure hope not."

Rob nodded. He looked through the recording one more time, then set the PADD back down. "Maybe it just flitted away with the currents." His eyes met Troy's. "I can see why you didn't say anything, but maybe we should keep a constant scan going, at least until we get to Moonbase."

Lt. banning nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that was my thought process." He let out a sigh, hoping it was just a bit of paranoia, and not an actual threat.
