“Wrap up” by Dr Celeste Ane
Amelia was sitting at the desk finishing the treatment notes. Rinette was finishing her cup of tea with Dr Resork and Celeste was running a final scan on their patient. The Bridge had said it would be a short time before Rinette and her patient could be beamed back to the Conveyance, so Celeste just wanted to make triple sure there were no other issues.
Celeste copied the treatment notes to a data stick for Rinette, so there was a record of the treatment, and handed it to her friend. It was harder to say goodbye the second time, and Celeste turned away to wipe a single tear away from her cheek.
The Bridge then sent word that their guests could beam back to their ship, and Celeste walked them down to the transporter room. Celeste smiled and waved goodbye as the Vet and her patient dematerialized.
Her smile faltered after that, her shoulders slumped. She notified the bridge that the canids were home. Celeste then commed sickbay and let them know that she would co-sign the paperwork from her quarters, and that she could be reached there if she was needed.
Celeste needed a few minutes to herself, so went to her quarters for a nutrient smoothie, and a sandwich. She would take care of everything else later.
