Log by Captain mcCloud NOTE:* This takes place about twelve hours after the sim of 250612. Aboard the USS Dauntless: Captain April Styles-Fyrstk sat in the command chair of the, Defiant-class, USS Dauntless. The ship was small, compared to staaarships like the Enterprise, and her own command, the USS Wyld Foxx. She had to admit, this ship could run circles around the larger ships, and it packed just as much of a punch. It just... felt a little cramped. April was glad her normal CMO, Dr. Terra Ane, was still aboard Pasteur Station, so she wouldn't be complaining about how small sickbay was. Sitting in formation with her, was two more starships. The Intrepid-class, Hopeii, and the USS Ulysses S. Grant, an Ambassador-class ship. They were alerted to a Tzenkethi ship which had been sent in a slip-stream corridor, right to them. April wasn't certain of all the details, especially, *how* they got the ship to program a corridor to them, but the Eagle, from an alternate universe, had said they were on the way. She and Brian (scott) had made certain the other two starships were at least ready to fight, though if the battle became a prolonged event, the Grant might fold first. Still, they had to try. Thinking about the alternate universe starship, April was reminded of her husband's ship of the same name. It had been located, and April wasw more than relieved to learn it was still fighting hard. She did have a quick conversation, with Lukas, but that was before they had learned about Deep Space 7. "Captain," called the science officer. "I am detecting a slip-stream corridor about to open. "Acknowledged," April calmly said. She tapped the All-Hands comm, on her command chair. After the alert whistle sounded, she said, "All hands. this is the captain. A slip-stream corridor is about to open, and supposedly, an enemy ship will be emerging. Our goal will be to take them alive, thus we will be deploying the new energy weapon, Captain Scott has developed. All hands to battle stations." Space, about zero point three-five light years from the space station: The slip-stream corridor opened, as the Eagle had predicted. The Tzenkethi ship emerged and slid away from the opening, which closed behind them. As soon as its sensors detected the waiting starships, it completed an about-face and attempted to open a second corridor. That is when the starships pounced. The Dauntless led the charge. Her weapons slammed against the Tzenkethi shields, and artfully dodged return fire. The Hopeii and the Grant struck together, with the latter of the ships, sending out a jamming signal, so the Tzenkethi ship could not call for help. April brought the Dauntless around again, once again strafing the Tzenkethi shields with continuous blast from the phaser pulse cannons. The Grant took a direct hit, from the Tzenkethi ship, and her, already weakened, shields went down. Her captain made the decision to hold her back, and continue jamming sub-space channels. the Hopeii continued making itself a hard target, and blasted the Tzenkethi shields. Finally, they went down. "As expected, sensors detected a power build-up, within the Typhon Pact ship. The Dauntless came in and deployed a beam onto the ship, and all systems went down. April smiled, knowing the chaos it would cause on the enemy ship. She knew they had different gravity wells, which allowed them to utilize side walls, and even what would be the ceiling, on her ship, for workspaces. With power down, the Tzenkethi would all be floating to try and get their ship back in service. April knew they drilled on this sort of thing happening, but this was no drill. The Hopeii slid into place and took the disabled ship into tow. ### |
