Time to look for the author...*** "Another Letter Home" PL |
PL: Counselor Dane Nguyen
Counselor Dane Nguyen had just finished with a counseling session. When he first learned of the new mission, for the ship, he thought this would cause more anxiety for certain crew members. He was right. The engineering officer, he had just seen, while being accepting of the new mission, also was a bit afraid of it. Dane assured the officer that he was always here to listen.
It was now approaching lunch time. There were no more appointments until fourteen hundred hours, so Dane decided to take this opportunity to prepare a message home. He tapped on the computer screen and requested a recording to be started.
"Hi, Mom," he started. "I hope all is well with you. I was glad I got to visit you if even onlu for the dinner we shared, on Stabase 001.
"I wanted to let you know I might be out of touch for a bit. The Eagle is going out again, and I can't really reveal her mission, but I will tell you, it seems exciting.
"Oh! I almost forgot... Troy enjoyed meeting you. He kept mentioning what a lovely woman you are, and how much he looks forward to getting together with you again. Thank you, so much. I know papa doesn't approve, so I know what grief you must have had to go through to make that happen.
"Anyhow, I love you, and I will send more to you when I can. Please let Papa know i do love him."
Dane reached forward and ended the recording. He watched it through, once, debating on changing it, but decided against that. Instead, he just sent it to the queue that would be downloaded into the communications buoy that would be sent back to Earth.
