"Flight of The Falcon" JDL
by: Thomas Hart

"Flight of the Falcon"
JDL: Commander Hart and Lt. Banning

Commander Thomas Hart gave a subtle nod as he saw the clearance to depart, come through. "We're clear, Troy. You ready?"

"Ready as ever, Sir," Lt. Banning replied. "I, also, have the sub-mode ready, to disguise us as asteroid particles."

"Excellent," the Eagle's chief engineer said. He powered the Falcon's thrusters, and lifted off the deck, and aimed the Delta Flyer-class shuttle toward the invisible barrier.

"We may not need the sub-mode," Hart commented as he piloted away from the Eagle. "I mean, we didn't detect any sensing apparatus, when we first entered Earth's orbit, and if they can sense us while we are orbiting the moon, then they'll find us despite what the ship looks like."

"Good point, Sir," Banning agreed. "I will keep sensors trained for anything that might even look like it has seen us."

"Okay," Hart acknowledged. "I'm not going to full impulse. Something tells me that if we approach, too quickly, they will know that too. It will take us about a half hour."

"A good precaution," the science officer agreed. He watched sensors as they went on their way. After a silent moment, he asked, "Do you really think this universe's Mallory has information that can help us?"

"I'm certain of it, Troy," Hart answered immediately. "Maybe it is an engineer to engineer, thing, because he is certainly an engineer for designing something that can produce an Einstein-Rosenburg bridge, but it is a... feeling I got from him. And, ever since Hailey's, and my, communion with our little starlight buddies, my hunches are always spot on."

"Well, I definitely, hope we find that moonbase then."

"Me, too, Troy," Hart said softly. "Me too."
